Plant assembly

We ensure that your plant assembly is carried out on schedule, in line with quality standards and economically – regardless of whether you are a plant manufacturer or operator.  We act as a single point of contact for the organization, coordination and supervision of all the work required for the physical construction of the plant on site. In this complex interplay of all the sections and people involved, our employees pay particular attention to environment, health and safety protection, and thus make a significant contribution to the success of smooth plant assembly.

Basically, the assembly of a process engineering plant can be divided into five successive phases, some of which overlap:

  • Ground works and construction
  • Initial assembly of apparatus and steel fabrication
  • Machine assembly
  • Pipeline assembly
  • Further assembly work, e.g. E/I&R assembly

In order to best meet the divergent requirements in each of these individual phases, we offer qualified site personnel in the following positions, depending on plant size and type:

Site management

Site management is responsible for the proper and timely execution of all construction work and thus plays a central role in the successful realization of the project. That is why we place particular emphasis on the high level of expertise and many years of experience of our site managers. In addition to organizing and coordinating safe construction operations on the construction site, the main tasks of construction management also include documenting the construction process in the form of a construction diary. Depending on whether the site manager is working on the side of the plant builder or operator, he or she is also responsible for other areas, such as construction supervision, acceptance of delivery and performance, or cost control. In addition, the site manager is responsible for compliance with all contractual and legal requirements, including all environmental, health and safety protection regulations.

EHS management

The topics of environment, health and safety (EHS) are gaining priority in more and more companies. Our qualified EHS managers are needed in order to eliminate hazards and risks at an early stage before they cause accidents or disruptions, especially in relatively large construction projects. We ensure that measures in the area of occupational safety and environmental protection are implemented efficiently and, last but not least, enhance your corporate image.

Quality assurance/quality control

Our QA/QC managers are usually specialist welding engineers or civil engineers whose main task is to implement a systematic quality assurance procedure. This is to ensure that all workers and contractors work to the same high quality standards and that all guidelines are met. For this reason, our quality control often begins at the plant manufacturer’s premises during production, e.g. with the suitability testing of skilled workers. On the construction site, activities such as the inspection of deliveries or the acceptance of construction and installation services are part of the responsibilities of a QA/QC manager.

Construction site documentation

Both plant constructors and plant operators have a legitimate interest in technically correct construction site documentation. While the plant operator needs the documentation primarily for the implementation and proof of safe, intended and economical continuous operation, the plant builder needs it as a basis for implementation and control during the procurement and construction of the plant. In order to maintain an overview of the current status of the plant assembly, we take over the as-built documentation of the entire plant and update it continuously depending on changes or additions. In addition, we use intelligent document management to ensure that all relevant documents relating to construction site processing are available to authorized persons at all times.

Construction site office

All the threads of the construction project come together in the site office. Analogous to the classic office organization, our competent office personnel also perform general office and assistance tasks on the construction site, in particular correspondence and commercial/administrative activities. With increasing internationalization and globalization, multilingualism in construction site coordination in particular is becoming a growing challenge. As an internationally active company, every employee must have a good command of written and spoken English. In addition, we employ expert personnel from various regions of the world and can therefore offer a wide range of languages together with native speaking staff as well.

Specialist site management/assembly management

Our qualified specialist site managers and assembly supervisors assume responsibility and take over management tasks at important interfaces in plant assembly, thus relieving the site management in the long term. Often, specialist construction managers appear in particular in subareas of larger construction projects in which intensive supervision by the superior construction manager is not possible for organizational and time reasons. They independently plan, organize and control all necessary activities related to the assembly service and ensure compliance with the relevant economic, safety and quality standards.

We are also happy to tailor the required scope of services in plant assembly to your individual requirements profile and construction project, as well as to your existing personnel structure.
